Many people aren’t aware that WordPress has a built-in feature that allows you to schedule a blog post. With this feature, it means there’s no need for an external plug-in. This will then allow you to write an article and set the date/time you want that post to be published.
Why Schedule Posts in WordPress?
Scheduling a blog post is a great idea as you can write your article and then set the time and date you require it to be published. This is great, due to the fact you don’t have to wait for that specific time to manually publish the post, you can be ahead of time and set all of this up. You might want to do this as your website gets more visitors at a certain time of the day. I use this feature more so to create content ahead of time allowing me to kick back for a few days as the articles will self-publish.
How Do You Schedule a Post in WordPress?
1) Firstly, if you want to write your article and once it’s ready to publish, you need to head over the other published section as shown below in the image. Next, you want to click the “Edit” button on the “Published on” section (next to the red arrow).
2) Once you have completed step one, you’ll then see the option to select the date you want the article to be scheduled for. Select the date/time you want the blog post to be published on, then click the “OK” button below (next to the red arrow).
3) Finally, you’re all set for the post to be scheduled. All you need to do is click the “Schedule” button (next to the red arrow).
Just follow these three simple steps above and you’ll be up and running in no time.
