Review of GetResponse: A Secret Weapon for Every Internet Marketer

When talking about internet marketing, what comes in mind is email marketing. It’s one of the proven and oldest ways of marketing but still works best until today. According to a study by Direct Marketing Association, email marketing has a ROI of 4300%. Furthermore, it is found that 66% of consumers made an online purchase as a result of message from email marketing and this is the highest compared to other methods such as direct mail, telephone, text-messaging and etc.

Other than good knowledge about email marketing, having the right tool is very important to help you manage your campaign effectively. That’s the reason why you should use GetResponse.

Although there are many new services coming up, GetResponse still one of the best and a must-use tool for many professional internet marketers. Here’s a testimonial from Neil Patel, a marketing guru and the owner of Kissmetrics, Crazy Egg and Quicksprout.

“GetResponse is head and shoulders above the rest. I call it my email marketing secret weapon!”

Pros

With easy to use templating system and easy integrations with other third-party contact, GetResponse is definitely for everyone – from first time users to professional internet marketers. It allows you to create high-converting landing pages easily and helps you make your email newsletter responsive to mobile devices without no coding.
Never waste your time running ineffective campaign by running your own A/B testing using GetResponse so you know what works best for your visitors. Furthermore, the smart and highly customizable auto responder system allows you to create follow-up emails, reminders and more so you can sit back and relax. GetResponse is also developer-friendly. Developer may use the Getreponse API to build their own application and connect with GetResponse. Moreover, you can easily access and use your GetResponse account with GetResponse’s Android and Iphone app which can be downloaded for free. Send newsletter, see analytics and do more with GetResponse mobile apps, anytime and anywhere.

Cons

Okay, let’s be honest here. Although Getresponse is a very good product, there are still rooms for improvement. For example, unlike Vertical Response, Getresponse has no free account that users can try out before buying. If you’re still new in email marketing, Vertical Response’s free plan is very attractive. It’s good for users with less than 1k of contacts and allows you to send up to 4k emails per month. Furthermore, the free plan also comes with auto responder feature.

Furthermore, unlike Vertical Response, GetResponse has no social integration with Facebook and Twitter. This is a smart feature that GetResponse should have as it allows users to easily cross promote their campaign to Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Pricing

Getresponse comes with couple of plans. The most basic plan priced at £10 per month and can serve up to 1k subscribres. If you’ve more subscribers, you can simply upgrade your plan to bigger plan with no hassle. However, for those who just started with email marketing, they might think twice before subscribing to the plan because there are other services that offer free plan like Vertical Response.

However, since all plans come with unlimited emailing, same as other more expensive plans, subscribing to Getresponse is definitely worth every penny and pays you back in no time.

Integration With WordPress

We know some of you guys might be wondering how easy it is to use Getresponse with WordPress.

The answer? It’s VERY EASY.

There are couple of ways, either traditional way of copy and paste code or via plugin. If you prefer the copy and paste method, once you’ve done creating your template and sign up form, simply copy the generated code, and paste it in the Text Widget in the Widgets page. Make sure you drag the Text Widget first to any widget location.

However, if you opt for the latter one, simply install and activate GetResponse Integration plugin which can be downloaded for free from plugin repo. To configure this plugin, please see the Installation tab on the plugin’s page.

What say you? Have you ever tried GetResponse? Do you think there are better alternatives out there for internet marketer that work best with WordPress? We’d love to hear more from you.
